Forrest Hill McClelland, age 99, of Parrsboro, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Parrsboro Hospital.

Born in Ward's Brook, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Mill) McClelland.

He left Port Greville in 1938, to work as an employee on the three mast schooner Minas King sailing to Boston and New York. During World War II, he was a Merchant Marine, returning to work for the Irving Company, sometimes alongside K. C. Irving. He went on to work with the Hudson Bay Company as an engineer, retiring from Northern Transportation. He loved to travel, and spent his 80th birthday in the Yukon. A very smart man, he worked on many things including building boats and a plane. He loved life, and lived everyday to the fullest.

He is survived by his children Keith (Wendy) McClelland, Ward's Brook, NS, Dana McCully, Parrsboro, and Tammy (Steven) Benjamin, Antigonish, NS; 4 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Clarabelle McCully; brothers Garnet and Gordon; infant sister Frances.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
