On Thursday, October 19, 2017, Robert Anthony
Arseneau, 83, of Springhill, died peacefully surrounded
by his loving family at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre
after a brief illness.
Robert is survived by his wife Janet (nee Calder),
Springhill; children, Andrea Arseneau (Michael Liddell), Amherst,
Stephen Arseneau, Springhill, and James Arseneau (Michelle McLean),
Bath, NB; granddaughters, Rachael Liddell, Sophie and Lily Arseneau;
siblings, Loretta Griffith (Griff), Kingston, ON, and Carolyn Douglas,
Amherst. He is predeceased by his parents, the late George and Helen
(Boucher) Arseneau, as well as his siblings, Margaret Beaton (George)
and Harold Arseneau.
Bob was born on April 27, 1934 in Springhill, Nova Scotia.
Over his lifetime he worked as a miner, welder, and Correctional
Officer at the Springhill Institution. Upon retirement, he began his
second, more fulfilling careers as an avid outdoorsman, golfer, loving
grandfather, source of Sunday dinners, and treasure trove of sound
advice and unconditional love. He was one of a kind, irreplaceable,
and will be sorely missed by his many friends and
family.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where an evening of visitation
will take place on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6-8pm. A funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017
at 11 am, Father Craig Christenson officiating. Interment to follow in
the North Street Roman Catholic Cemetery.
