It is with sadness we announce the passing of Glen Hollis Wood, 95, of Springhill.  Glen passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at High Crest Nursing Home.

Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Guy and Inga (Olsen) Wood.

Glen was a member of St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17.  After enlisting in 1942, he served overseas four years during World War II.  He worked in lumbering, as a mechanic and as a commissionaire.  He enjoyed fly fishing and bird watching.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, John (Helen) Wood of Springhill, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife the former Eileen Phyllis Gilroy; brothers, Alfred, Harold, Clyde, and Leonard, and sisters, Frances, Lenora, Eileen and Ruth.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361).  A Graveside committal service will be held at Friday, October 20. 2017 at 1pm in the Leamington Cemetery, with The Reverend  Wayne McCarther officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
