It is with deep sadness that we announce
the passing of Frances Mildred Lockhart,
90 years of Springhill, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan.
Born in Springhill on August 11, 1927
she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mae (Smith) Scott and step
daughter of Fred Hawker.
She taught in Amherst and Springhill
schools from grades 5 to High School with the last 21 years of her
career teaching at the Springhill Vocational School retiring in 1982
after 35 years. She served on the Springhill Town Council;
was a member of the Pythian Star Temple # 8 Pythian Sisters and Lady
Minto Rebekah Lodge # 23. She enjoyed playing cards, and
reading. She rarely missed a Motocross race, first cheering
on her son Scott later grandsons Ryan and
Bradley.
She will be dearly missed by her son,
Scott (Roxanne) Lockhart; Springhill, grandsons, Ryan (Randi),
Langley, BC and Bradley (Karly), Springhill; great grandchildren,
Meston and Meyer; step-son, Doug (Bonnie) Lockhart,
Springhill, step-grandchildren, Troy (Leslie) of BC and Darren of
Springhill, several step great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband,
William "Bill" and by a brother, Bill.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of the A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visiting
hours will take place on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm followed immediately at
3 pm by her funeral service, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Reception to follow. Frances will be interred beside her
husband in the Hillside Cemetery.
