It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret Elaine Pettigrew, 82, of Springhill, on Monday, July 10, 2017 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.  

Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Jennie (Lewis) Hodges.

A wonderful lady, Elaine was loved by all who knew her.  She loved watching sunsets, listening to country music, reading and knitting.  To all her computer friends, may God bless you.

She will be dearly missed by sons, Silas (Linda), Malagash, and Christopher (Karen), Revere, Mass; daughters, Belinda Meekins, Five Islands, NS, Dorothy (Ken) Johnson, Ottawa, ON and Allie (Stephen) Hatfield, Oxford; 12 grandchildren,  29 great grandchildren and a heart-full of great great grandchildren; brother, James Hodges, Saint John, NB; many nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by her husband Silas "Pard"; sons, Norman and Paul and great grandson Joshua.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) from where a time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  A funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2 pm, The Reverend Wayne McCarther officiating.  Private burial will take place in the Mapleton Cemetery at a later date.
