Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, including her special bond with her granddaughter, Niley.  She loved traveling and sitting at the beach in the sun.  She was kind and caring and loved her dogs.

Brenda was a member of the St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, Springhill.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, George McAloney, Springhill; her mother, Frances (nee Bird); her children, Michelle McAloney, Springhill, David (Sarah) McAloney, Mineville, NS, and Danny (Brittany) McAloney, Lower Sackville, NS; a step-daughter, Amanda (Dwight) Lowther, Moncton; three grandchildren, Niley, Jacob, and Rowan; one brother, Bert (Alice) McDonald, Pictou Landing; mother-in-law, Margaret McAloney, Springhill, as well as several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother Frank, and her father-in-law, George McAloney.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm.  A funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 2 pm, with a burial to follow in the Mapleton Cemetery.  Rev. Wayne McCarther presiding.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Harrison, Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Short, as well as the staff of the Palliative Care Unit/Medical Unit of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for their compassion and support.
