It is with deep and profound sadness
that we announce the sudden passing of our mother,
Joanne Dorothy Corkin, 69 years, of
Springhill on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at her
residence.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter
of the late Bertram and Inez (Black) Chapman.
Joanne enjoyed a good time, she loved to
smile and brought fun energy into any room. She worked as a
receptionist for many companies and doctors over the years.
She was very involved in the Ladies Auxiliary at the Springhill Fire
Department, and more recently the St. Andrews Wesley United Church
Choir. Most importantly to her was her time with family,
especially loving her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her
children, Angela (Steven) Romain, Hammonds Plains and Andrew (Karen)
Corkin, Chester Basin; grandchildren Connor and Austin Romain, Aidan
and Chloe Corkin; brothers, Tom (Bonnie) Chapman, Saint John, NB, Doug
Chapman and Steve Chapman, both of Springhill, Jim (Vickie) Chapman,
Warren; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband
Thomas Earl Corkin in 2016; sister-in-law, Jean
Chapman.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will
take place on Friday, from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service
for Joanne will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28,
2017 at 2 pm, Rev. Wayne McCarther officiating. She and her
husband Tom will be placed together forever in their Columbarium in
