The death of Beatrice Marie "Bea"
Burton, 85, of Springhill, occurred unexpectedly at
home on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Born in Springhill on September 27,
1931, Bea was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Rector)
Olsen.
Bea was a member of the Springhill Fire Department Ladies
Auxiliary for many years. She had worked at MacAloney Nursing Home
with her twin sister as a cook for several years before starting a
position at Oxford Frozen Foods where she remained until her
retirement. She loved spending time at the camp, fishing, and
attending tournaments for both darts and bowling.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Edward (Betty) Burton,
Springhill, Harold (Cathy) Burton, Amherst, and Billy (Tammy Evans)
Burton, Springhill; a daughter, Mary Burton, Springhill;
grandchildren, Bill, Don, Ron, Tracy, Shirley, Roger, Tony, Steven,
Andrew, Kendra and Tamra; several great and great great grandchildren;
a sister, Sarah (Terry) Rolfe, Springhill; two brothers, Ralph Olsen
Jr, of Ontario, and Peter Olsen, of New Glasgow, as well as several
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband
Ronald Burton in 2006; her twin sister Beverly Perry; a sister
Marjorie Veinott and a granddaughter, Tara Dawn
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown
Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361). Honouring
Bea's wishes there is to be no visitation or funeral service at this
time. A graveside service will be held in the North Street Roman
Catholic Cemetery in the Spring.

made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke
Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
