The death of Edmund
Kenneth "Bud" Emberly, 83, of Springhill,
occurred at the High Crest Nursing Home on Saturday, December 31,
2016. Born in Springhill, Bud was a son of the late Edmund
and Lousie (Beaton) Emberly.
For most of his life, Bud owned and ran
Bud's Service Station and Lunch Counter in the west end of Springhill
where he was best known for his fish and chip orders. In his
younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with the boys at the
camp. He loved baseball and hockey and enjoyed watching the
Toronto Blue Jays as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He loved his family, and enjoyed
spending time with them.
Bud will be sadly missed by his
daughters Susan (Duane) Beaton and Ann (James) Matheson; his son, John
(Erin) Emberly; eight grandchildren, Danika, Bronson, Morgan, Levi,
Clayton, Merrick, Rome, and Koa; three great grandchildren, Malik,
Adam, and Sierra, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Joan (nee Hunter) in 1998; an infant
son, David; a sister, Janet and a brother Jack.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) from where a time of
visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 1 pm until
the time of the funeral service at 3 pm. Interment will take
place in the Spring in the Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Bud may be made
to The Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre, or a charity of
the Donor's Choice.
