The death of Marilyn Eileen McCormick,
74, of Rodney, occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at All Saints
Hospital, Springhill, after a brief illness. Born in
Springhill, Marilyn was a daughter of Evelyn (nee Burton) and the late
Arthur Pyke.
Marilyn was a member of the St. Andrew's
Wesley United Church and the Rodney Ladies Aid Group. She
enjoyed traveling and spending time with her
grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her husband
of fifty-three years, Irvin McCormick of Rodney; three children, Kevin
(Gail), of Rodney, Todd (Jackie), of Rodney, and Kim (Dave) Wright, of
Oshawa; her eight grandchildren, Nikki, Brad, Brandon, Ryan, Ben,
Alex, Kyle, and Kody; one great grandchild, Paitlyn; her mother,
Evelyn Pyke; one brother, Barry (Ellen) Pyke; one sister, Bonnie
(Jack) Martin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased
by a son, Trevor, and a sister Diana.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill
(902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held 2-4
& 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016. The funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2 pm.
Interment will be held in the Spring in the Rodney
Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Marilyn may be
made to the Rodney Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer
Society.
