It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Brian Bickle, age 88, of
Springhill, NS. Brian passed away peacefully at Gables Lodge, Amherst
on Friday, November 18, 2016.
Born in Sherburn Hill, England, he was a
son of the late Thomas and Doris (Bloomfield) Bickle.
Brian began work as a Surveyor in the
Springhill Mines up until the Bump, then became a self employed
carpenter. He enjoyed gardening, and working with his
hands. He loved spending time at his camp at Fountain
Lake.
Brian will be sadly missed by his sons,
Alan (Paulette) Bickle, Halifax and Ron (Wanda) Bickle, Amherst;
daughter, Marion (Eric) Devanney, Lower Onslow; five grandchildren,
Cindy, Michael (Lisa), Neil (Stephanie), Adam, and Andrew (Bethany);
two great grandsons, Tyler and Nolan; nieces Lynn Brown and Ruth
Brown.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60
years, the former Hazel Gilroy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A.
H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361)
where visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1 pm
until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by the funeral service,
Reverend Wayne McCarther officiating. Burial will follow in
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
