Lorna Ann Crowe, 81, of East Mapleton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born July 7, 1935 in Amherst, Lorna was a daughter of the late Clifford and Helen (Bowser) Travis.

Lorna was a member of the St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, Springhill, and a member of the East Mapleton-Leamington Sewing Circle. She had been a Sunday School teacher and a very active member of the former Mapleton United Church and a leader with the Ro-Win-Lea 4-H Club.

She enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing and cooking for both her family and her community, and especially enjoyed the many family gatherings.

Lorna was a graduate of Amherst Regional High School and St. Charles Commercial School. She was employed as a stenographer for Burns Adjustment Agency for many years before moving to East Mapleton. She was the chief support person for many decades during the family blueberry harvest with Brookland Products and played an active part in the family maple production business as a partner in Mapleton Enterprises.

Her main focus was her family, especially her husband of fifty-five years and her five grandchildren who were her pride and joy and will miss her very dearly.

Lorna will be sadly missed by her husband, Keith, East Mapleton; her children, Lyndon (Cathy), East Mapleton, Aaron (Randy), Ottawa and Andrea Crowe, Ottawa; five grandchildren, Cassie, Alex, Mathew, Simbi, and Tesi; one brother, Weldon (Nancy), East Amherst; two sisters, Carolyn (Arthur) Phinney, Paradise, and Ruth (Robin) Phillips, Valley; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Travis, Saint John, NB and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine; a brother, Rod; a sister Eleanor; a sister-in-law, Betty (Alfred), and a brother-in-law, Garth (Ruth).
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held 7-9 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 and on Friday from 12:30 pm until the time of the funeral at 2 pm. Interment to follow in the Mapleton Cemetery.
