The death of Rose Marie Harrison, 87, of Amherst, and formerly of Springhill Junction, NS, occurred after a brief illness at the Gables Lodge on Thursday, October 13, 2016.  Rose was born in Springhill Junction, and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Permilia (McGraw) Dow. 

     Rose enjoyed the outdoors immensely.  She loved to hunt and fish.  She was an avid Bingo player.  Rose will be dearly missed by her family.

     She is survived by sons; Michael Harrison, Springhill, Steven Harrison, NWT, and James (Dianne) Harrison, Dartmouth; a daughter Rosemary (Donald) Parsons, Amherst; six grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Victoria, Margaret, Sheena, and Donald Jr.; two great grandchildren, Isabella and Ava Grace;  her brothers, Walter and Leonard and a sister, Florence, as well as several nieces and nephews.

     Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 2003, as well as several brothers and sisters. 

      Arrangements are under the care of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361).  Honouring Rose's wishes, there is to be no visitation or funeral service.  

     Donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
