SPRINGHILL - The death of Doris Evelyn
Henwood, 93, of Advocate Harbour, and formerly of
Southampton, occurred on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of
the late Gordon and Annie (Atkinson) Henwood.
Doris had been a member of Southampton United
Church. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, cooking and spending time with
her family.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters,
Annie (Jim) Crowe, Oxford, Marie Benjamin, Parrsboro, and Mary Carter,
Gold River, BC; her sons, Frankie (Judy) Henwood, London, ON, Bernie
(Debbie) Henwood, Mississauga, ON, Gordon (Donna) Henwood, Bolton, ON,
Gerald Henwood, ON, Charles Henwood, Moncton, and Wayne Henwood,
Moncton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great
grandchildren; one brother, Merlin Henwood, Texas; a sister, Shirley
Robichaud, Peabody, Mass, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Everett T. Henwood; son, William; a daughter, Audrey; a great
granddaughter, Ocean Leigh; four sisters, Margaret, Freda, Rhoda, and
Grace, and four brothers, Harold, Gerald, Earl and
Kenneth.
Arrangements for Doris are under the care and supervision of
A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill,
(902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held from 6-8
pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016 with a funeral service from the funeral
home on Friday at 2 pm. Rev. Wayne McCarther officiating. Interment
will be in the Westbrook Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Springhill
Salvation Army.
