Surrounded by her loving family, the death of
Gail Catherine Jackson, 82, of
Springhill, occurred on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Springhill, Gail was a daughter
of the late John David and Minnie Irene (Tabor)
Jackson.
Gail served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1953 - 1956.
She was well known as a fantastic cook and baker and worked in the
food service industry at the high school, All Saint's Hospital, and as
a private caterer as well. She loved to visit with her grandchildren
and great grandchildren in Lunenburg, and while there, she was a
popular figure at the Lunenburg Fire Department, often volunteering
her time when she was able.
She will be sadly missed by her son Robin (Brenda) Jackson,
Lunenburg; brothers, Grant (Diane) Jackson, Springhill, and Gary
(Bonnie) Jackson, Amherst, and David (Sharon Carde) Jackson,
Springhill; two grandchildren, Aaron (Jill), Lunenburg and Kelly
(Jeremy), Bridgewater; three great grandchildren, Madison, Luca and
Jordyn; close friends, Linda, Mary Ellen, Maryanne and Kenny (nephew),
as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother,
Bill.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A.H. Brown
Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361). Honoring
Gail's wishes, there is to be no visitation. Family and friends are
welcome at a graveside service at the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill,
on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 2 pm followed by a reception at the
Springhill Legion.
Donations in memory of Gail may be made to the Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch 17, Springhill, or a charity of the donor's
choice.
