It is with heavy hearts that we, the
family of Mable Emily Gallagher, 89,
announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the
Cumberland Regional Health Care Center in Amherst. Emily was
born on April 22, 1926 at South Brook , Cumberland County, the
daughter of James R. and Edna M. (Lepper) Brown.
She married Clarence 'Curtis' Gallagher
on July 11, 1942 and together they raised their eight children: Edna
Smith, Dorothy (Brenton) Booth, Jim (Sharon) Gallagher, David (Evelyn)
Gallagher, Marlene (Wayne) Millard, Bill Gallagher, Dwight (Linda)
Gallagher, and Rhonda Bradbury. She dearly loved all her
family, including her eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great
grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was also
survived by her sister Dorothy Harrison; brother-in-law Winston
(Helen) Gallagher; sisters-in-law Evelyn Brown and Joyce Gallagher, as
well as several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered
as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great
great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing,
knitting, rug hooking, and crafts of various kinds. She very
much enjoyed an evening of cards and/or bingo and especially watching
her favourite Toronto Blue Jays. Emily was a member of the
Pythian Sisters of Southampton, the Rebekahs and the East
Mapleton-Leamington Sewing Circle.
Emily was predeceased by her husband,
Curtis; her daughter-in-law Debbie Gallagher; son-in-law Darrell
Smith; granddaughter, Kimberley Hazel, and grandson Ronnie Gallagher;
great granddaughters, Macy Gallagher, and Brooklyn Booth.
She was also predeceased by her sisters Leona Harroun, Margaret and
Grace, and brothers, Leonard, Curtis, LaMert, Millard, and
Laurie.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of
visitation will be held 7-9 pm on Monday February 8, 2016 and from 2
pm Tuesday until the time of the funeral service at 3 pm.
The Rev. Elizabeth Davies of Southampton officiating. Burial
to take place in the South Brook cemetery in the spring.

choice.
